When horse first stepped onto this uncharted isle, it was deserted aside from the plants and small animals that first called it home. The equine breed was numbered largely, and required vast spaces for grazing and lakes of fresh water. They found these needs plentiful, and lived many yearsin peace and prosperity. Stallions began to show signs of dominence and began to no longer cooperate. The massive herd soon split into four smaller groups: the North, South, West and East herds.
These groups learned the ways of their new lands and became strong, able-bodied horses with much wisdom and loyalty. But when leaders were suceeded by a young, power-hungry stallions, war broke out. The four clans lived many decades of unease and hostility, until finally, what was left of the once-great civilization retreated inland...leaving the island silent once again.
Until, many years later, four horses stepped onto the sands of the land again, to reincarnate the old ways and bring the island to thrive once more. One of these was Bryce, a broad-minded paint stallion who taught ways of the wise and powerful. A kind and gentle warmblood mare known as Zaira taught of compassion and loyalty. Andraste, a small white mare, knew much of honesty and forgiveness, while the final horse, a large gypsy stallion called Ronan stressed the importance of courage and strength...
With these four equines came knowledge and power...which they blessed upon four great stonefaces arranged in a circular shape. Each of these rocks face north, south, east of west. The Four Stones became the gathering place of all leaders, and offered a place of peacetalk and neautral meetings. Each of the horses took to a direction, living out the rest of their days as newfound ancestors. Their remains are in the earth, and the lands they once roamed are now once again recovering...and decendants are bringing Four Stones back to the Golden Age in which it once thrived...
